Mumbai: Zee Cinema is set to bring an evening of laughter, misunderstandings and comic chaos to television with the World Television Premiere of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do on Saturday, September 26, at 8 pm.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead, the film brings back the actor’s familiar comic charm, following his popular performance in Dream Girl. Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh join him in the comedy, which revolves around mistaken identities, tangled relationships and situations that spiral increasingly out of control.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra and Krishan Kumar, with Juno Chopra as creative producer, the film is presented under the banners of T-Series Films and B.R. Studios. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the story uses everyday relationship dynamics, misunderstandings and situational humour to create its comic moments.
The film also features Vijay Raaz, sharing screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana once again after Dream Girl. Tigmanshu Dhulia and Durgesh Kumar further add to the comic ensemble.
Speaking about the film, Ayushmann said he enjoyed being part of a comedy where the characters and the confusion surrounding them constantly drive the story. He said the energy brought by Sara, Rakul, Wamiqa and the rest of the cast made the experience particularly enjoyable.
Sara Ali Khan described the film’s confusion as entertaining and natural, while Wamiqa Gabbi said the humour comes from characters believing they understand the situation when, in reality, everyone has misunderstood something.
Rakul Preet Singh said she liked that the film does not unnecessarily portray its characters or situations negatively, but instead builds its humour around how a small misunderstanding can quickly turn into an uncontrollable situation.
Director Mudassar Aziz said the film was conceived around situational humour and misunderstandings rather than a conventional story of marital infidelity. According to him, a seemingly small misunderstanding gradually develops into a larger comic mess involving multiple characters and layers of confusion.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will have its World Television Premiere on Saturday, September 26, at 8 pm, only on Zee Cinema.
